A popular influencer on YouTube and TikTok has heralded the many food spots at a Greater Manchester market as \u2018unreal\u2019.<\/p>\n
For the last few months, online creator OnlyScrans, who has 89,000 followers on YouTube alone, has been shining a spotlight on the best football food in the UK. In a video posted last week, he turned his attention to the delights on offer for Bury FC<\/a> fans.<\/p>\n The influencer, real name Jono Yates, visited the historic Bury Market<\/a>, which dates back to 1440, to try the likes of black pudding and Eccles<\/a> cakes. Describing the market as \u2018older than America, older than Henry VIII\u2019, Only Scrans said the market was like \u2018travelling back to the 90s when things were alright\u2019.<\/p>\n In the video, which has had more than 25,000 views in just seven days, the creator stops off at the Chadwick\u2019s Bury<\/a> Black Pudding stall, which has previously also been praised by Man V Food host Adam Richman.<\/a><\/p>\n Join our Manchester Food and Drink WhatsApp group <\/strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Having been run since 1865, the stall is now manned by couple Tony and Mary. \u201cWe\u2019ve been going 160 years – 20 years before the football club was founded,\u201d Tony tells Jono, who runs his own restaurant in Nantwich called Goat.<\/p>\n Trying a steamed pudding with Chadwick\u2019s homemade mustard – which Tony described as the \u2018best cure for a hangover\u2019 – the YouTube star described it as \u2018delicious\u2019. \u201cAbsolutely loving it, mate,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Next up to be visited was Turkisk spot Gozleme, where tried a \u2018so good\u2019 Turkish-style pizza, called a Lahmacun, which comes without tomato sauce or cheese and instead consists of spiced minced lamb. \u201cCan\u2019t go wrong with it, really,\u201d Only Scrans <\/a>tells the camera.<\/p>\n The influencer then makes his way to Harry Muffin to try one of their \u2018dead nice\u2019 Cissy Greens pies, which was considered a favourite of Winston Churchill. Also giving their Wimbury pies a go, with bilberries,. \u201cThat\u2019s so good,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt\u2019s nostalgic, that taste, isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n Outside of Bury Market, the video also shows Only Scrans talking to Bury FC fans at the Swan & Cemetery pub, as well as the hot food vendors at the club stadium itself to try some of their pies.<\/p>\n He also had the chance to visit Lojo Mate!, a tiny Hong Kong cafe on a terraced row of houses in the middle of a Bury street. Run by owner Alex, the spot has quickly become known for serving up some of the best char siu in Manchester.<\/p>\n The size of someone\u2019s front room, the caf\u00e9, which is an off-shoot of a Michelin-starred takeaway in Hong Kong. has previously been described as being \u2018something quite homely and unique\u2019<\/a> and Only Scrans was also left impressed with their offering. \u201cThat\u2019s unreal,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n The video clearly went down with viewers, with many praising both Jono\u2019s presenting style and his championing of local and independent food vendors.<\/p>\n One person wrote: \u201cLove Bury Market, great people – so glad you did the black pudding, top notch gear that.\u201d Another said: \u201cGreat content! Bury is our town. We’re glad you enjoyed your visit, the football, the food and the world famous market.\u201d<\/p>\n One other commented: \u201cThis has to be one of my favourite episodes yet of these vlogs. It\u2019s great to see a market so busy and vibrant and the town doing so well. Sadly many towns and cities used to have markets full like this every day but now they are ghost towns.”<\/p>\n They added: “These vlogs put places on the food map and football map and highlight many hidden gems.
