{"id":5779,"date":"2025-04-09T12:36:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T12:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/5779\/"},"modified":"2025-04-09T12:36:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T12:36:10","slug":"age-ratings-suggest-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-and-3-remasters-heading-for-ps5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/5779\/","title":{"rendered":"Age Ratings Suggest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3 Remasters Heading for PS5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"scanlines\" title=\"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3 Remasters Seemingly Heading for PS5 1\" href=\"https:\/\/images.pushsquare.com\/7c7bd5841b4aa\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-and-3-remasters-seemingly-heading-for-ps5-1.large.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-and-3-remasters-seemingly-heading-for-ps5-1.900x.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" alt=\"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3 Remasters Seemingly Heading for PS5 1\"\/><\/a>Image: Push Square<\/p>\n<p>Newly spotted age ratings for a pair of Call of Duty games suggest they&#8217;re getting current-gen ports in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/insider-gaming.com\/modern-warfare-2-3-rated-in-australia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Insider Gaming<\/a>, Australia&#8217;s classification board has listings for what appear to be PS5 versions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps4\/call_of_duty_modern_warfare_2_campaign_remastered\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps3\/call_of_duty_modern_warfare_3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign remaster of MW2 was released for PS4 in 2020, while a remaster of MW3 was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/news\/2020\/04\/rumour_call_of_duty_modern_warfare_3_remastered_is_finished_will_launch_on_ps4_first\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rumoured to be complete<\/a>, but has yet to launch.<\/p>\n<p>As for these <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.classification.gov.au\/titles\/mw2-ps5-cross-gen-edition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian<\/a> <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.classification.gov.au\/titles\/mw3-cross-gen-edition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ratings<\/a>, it&#8217;s thought that these refer to the remasters because the more recent renditions are already on PS5; one of the listings mentions Sony&#8217;s console specifically, but both say &#8220;Cross-Gen Edition&#8221;. What&#8217;s more, the newer games are stylised with roman numerals in their titles, but these listings are not.<\/p>\n<p>It seems likely that these remasters will receive PS5 versions called Cross-Gen Editions, entitling customers to the PS4 version as well.<\/p>\n<p>Age ratings usually mean a release is around the corner, so we expect these will be announced in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Would you like to play these classics on PS5?
