And in what many are suggesting is a first look, the property looks homey, elegant, and altogether regal.

William shared a video for the Royal British Legion earlier this week that was thought to have been filmed inside the home. In the background, we see minimalist damask wallpaper on a blueish-gray wall, ivory-coloured doors with gold fringe, framed works of art (one with a gold frame), and heavy wine-red curtains.

Speaking at the Irish Guards’ St. Patrick’s Day parade in March, Kate told soldiers, “We are in Windsor at the moment. We were in London but moved there for more green space. It’s close enough to London, not too far away.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly moved into the home earlier this month, as their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, were on their half term holiday. The family previously lived at Adelaide Cottage since 2022. The properties are both located inside Windsor Great Park, and are about four miles apart.

The BBC reported that the family will not have any live-in staff, in-keeping with their life at the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage. It is thought that the Prince and Princess of Wales are keen to create as private a family home as possible for their children. The same report also stated that Kate and William are funding the move privately and will pay market rent on the property; in 2001, Forest Lodge underwent a restoration costing around £1.5million, and was listed on the rental market for £15,000 per month.

<img draggable="true" alt="cookstown, northern ireland october 14: catherine, princess of wales and prince william, prince of wales walk in the orchards as they visit to long meadow cider on october 14, 2025 in craigavon, northern ireland. long meadow has been owned by the mckeever family for three generations and has been cultivating premium quality apples since 1968. the prince and princess of wales are visiting organisations providing creative and entrepreneurial opportunities for young people in rural areas of northern ireland. It has eight bedrooms, and its amenities include a ballroom and a tennis court.
