A man has been arrested in Liverpool following a major investigation into Bonfire Night<\/a> disorder in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n Detectives launched inquiries ahead of Bonfire Night 2025 amid concerns that fireworks were being stockpiled for use in antisocial behaviour and disorder across the Scottish capital.<\/a> Intelligence led officers to a number of individuals believed to be involved in possessing and selling illicit pyrotechnics.<\/p>\n During the operation, police recovered over a tonne of illegal fireworks in Rosyth<\/a> on October 27, with further seizures taking the total haul to more than 1,200 kilos.<\/p>\n Police Scotland<\/a> have confirmed that the investigation later expanded in partnership with Merseyside Police.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, November 18, a 28-year-old man was arrested in a joint operation involving officers from both forces. It’s believed they were to be given to individuals across Edinburgh for the purpose of causing violence and disorder.<\/p>\n A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection.<\/p>\n Police Scotland<\/a> made 14 arrests in connection with fireworks-related offences over the Halloween and Bonfire Night period by the dedicated investigation team within Edinburgh.<\/p>\n The force announced that this year\u2019s national policing<\/a> operation saw a near 37 per cent reduction in fireworks calls, compared with last year.<\/p>\n![\"Police](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1_fireworks-2.jpg\")
