{"id":579054,"date":"2025-11-18T21:25:22","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T21:25:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/579054\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T21:25:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T21:25:22","slug":"line-of-duty-season-7-coming-to-bbc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/579054\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Line Of Duty&#8217; Season 7 Coming To BBC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe worst kept secret in British TV is out\u2026 AC-12 are back. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jed-mercurio\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jed-mercurio\" data-tag=\"jed-mercurio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jed Mercurio<\/a>\u2019s smash <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/bbc\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bbc\" data-tag=\"bbc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> thriller <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/line-of-duty\/\" id=\"auto-tag_line-of-duty\" data-tag=\"line-of-duty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Line of Duty<\/a> is officially returning for a seventh season following a five-year hiatus, with stars <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/martin-compston\/\" id=\"auto-tag_martin-compston\" data-tag=\"martin-compston\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Martin Compston<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/vicky-mcclure\/\" id=\"auto-tag_vicky-mcclure\" data-tag=\"vicky-mcclure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vicky McClure<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/adrian-dunbar\/\" id=\"auto-tag_adrian-dunbar\" data-tag=\"adrian-dunbar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adrian Dunbar<\/a>\u00a0reprising roles. Cameras will roll in Belfast on the World Productions-produced show next year and more cast will be announced soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSeason 7 starts with the iconic AC-12 division being disbanded and rebranded the Inspectorate of Police Standards. Anticorruption work has never been more difficult. In the challenging climate, Steve Arnott (Compston), Kate Fleming (McClure) and Ted Hastings (Dunbar) are assigned their most sensitive case so far. Detective Inspector Dominic Gough, a charismatic officer winning plaudits for a string of takedowns of organized crime, is accused of abusing his position of trust to act as a sexual predator. But is Gough\u2019s case a deliberate distraction from a bigger threat still operating in the shadows?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cEveryone involved in Line of Duty feels enormous gratitude to the show\u2019s fans,\u201d said Mercurio. \u201cWe\u2019re privileged to have had so many of you follow the ups and downs of AC-12 over six previous seasons and we couldn\u2019t be more delighted to be returning for a seventh.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAlmost since the conclusion of Season 6, rumors of Line of Duty\u2019s return have abound, with Dunbar all but confirming the news in an interview earlier this year. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe finale of Line of Duty Season 6 remains the most-watched British drama episode since records began. That finale brought the seasons-long question of \u201cWho is H?\u201d to a conclusion, as H was revealed to be the oaf-ish DS Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle). While some were disappointed with the twist, Line of Duty EP Simon Heath <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/01\/international-disruptors-simon-heath-1234914344\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told us back in 2022<\/a>: \u201cFor fans of the show, [the ending] made perfect sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe next guessing game will be which big stars the BBC can attract. The likes of Stephen Graham, Lennie James and Keeley Hawes have featured in previous seasons of Line of Duty. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLine of Duty started out in 2012 as a small cop show on BBC Two but quickly gained a mega following and was shifted to BBC One in 2016. The show can be watched on a number of American streaming platforms including BritBox, Hulu and Acorn TV. It has previously been on Netflix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBBC drama boss Lindsay Salt said Line of Duty\u2019s \u201camazing ratings are a true testament to the success of Jed\u2019s writing, the work from the brilliant team at World Productions and the entire cast and crew.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m so pleased that after four long years Line of Duty will be back filming soon and can\u2019t wait for BBC viewers to be back on the edge of their seats,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDuring its hiatus, Mercurio has written shows including Trigger Point, DI Ray and Netflix\u2019s upcoming Trinity. World recently made the BBC and Netflix\u2019s The Bombing of Pan Am 103.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLine of Duty Season 7 will be directed by\u00a0Jennie Darnell\u00a0and producer is\u00a0Ken Horn. EPs are\u00a0Mercurio and Heath\u00a0for World Productions, and\u00a0Nick Lambon\u00a0for the BBC.\u00a0Line of Duty is made with support from\u00a0Northern Ireland Screen.
