Princes Road and Ullet Road in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/toxteth\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Toxteth<\/a> were partially submerged, while deep water forced the closure of part of Queens Drive. In <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/prescot\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Prescot<\/a>, Carr Lane was shut in both directions when flooding <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/floods-roads-closed-weather-travel-32898315\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"made the road unsafe to use.Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">made the road unsafe to use.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported long delays on the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/m56\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"M56 eastboundLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">M56 eastbound<\/a>, which was partially blocked at junction 15 near the M53 due to standing water. Forecasters say an Arctic blast will bring a strong, very cold northerly airflow, making conditions feel even colder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">A Met Office spokesperson said: &#8220;By Wednesday, we\u2019ll all be firmly under the colder Arctic airmass, with a strong and very cold northerly flow making temperatures feel even colder.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">People across Merseyside are being urged to take extra care, with warnings of icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, and an increased risk of slips and falls.
