With the aim of bringing about positive and lasting change, Brabners set itself ambitious sustainability goals which have been reflected in its own business practices and also in giving back to local communities by investing in green projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maray<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Ewnm7cCWUAcdlMs-819x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-104901\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Fans of Liverpool-born restaurant group Maray know all about its tasty Middle Eastern-inspired small plates, but there\u2019s more to Maray than just fantastic disco cauli! It\u2019s a business that makes sustainability a priority in food and culture. Committed to reducing waste, sourcing ethically and supporting local communities with heart, the Maray team began working with the Sustainable Restaurant Association in 2018 and last year was awarded its top Food Made Good Standard three-star rating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oneday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regeneration specialists Oneday have transformed Bowring Park and Golf Course, England\u2019s oldest municipal golf course, into a national award-winner. A hub for innovation, learning and green skills launched at the start of this year, it won Sustainable Project of the Year at the Golf Environment Awards. It\u2019s become<strong> <\/strong>Knowsley\u2019s best kept secret for different kinds of golf, dog walking, children\u2019s play areas, and food and drink at The Coach House \u2013 plus it created 85 local jobs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strawberry Field<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/The-iconic-gates-at-the-entrance-to-Strawberry-Field-Liverpool-scaled-e1758797520683.jpg\" alt=\"Strawberry Field\" class=\"wp-image-226799\"\/><\/p>\n<p>As well as being one of Liverpool\u2019s most iconic visitor attractions, and a must-go for Beatles fans from around the world, Strawberry Field \u2013 run by The Salvation Army \u2013 is committed to environmental, social and economic sustainability.\u00a0 Having achieved a Silver certification from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.green-tourism.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Green Tourism<\/a>, it\u2019s now working towards Gold with green initiatives including bug hotels, bat and bird boxes, and hedgehog highways in the garden, growing its own vegetables and herbs for the cafe, and solar roof panels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zero Waste Liverpool<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1440\" height=\"810\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pallets-of-bread-stacked-into-volunteers-car.jpg\" alt=\"Supermarket Christmas food Liverpool - Zero Waste Liverpool - The Guide Liverpool\" class=\"wp-image-181819\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Zero Waste Liverpool saves huge amounts of surplus food, redistributing it at weekly community events to make sure it ends up on people\u2019s dinner tables instead of landfill.\u00a0 Volunteers work with over 100 businesses across the region including all the major supermarkets, and restaurant chains, to pick up and give out food that would otherwise be dumped.
