A number of names have been linked with a potential takeover at Sheffield Wednesday since the club went into administration in late October.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Owls are seeking a new owner, with administrators Begbies Traynor searching to replace Dejphon Chansiri.<\/p>\n

It has been reported<\/a> that up to 11 parties have already shown serious interest in purchasing the Championship side.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been claimed<\/a> that they have all shown a proof of funds of \u00a350 million in order to be considered, with a soft deadline for initial bids set at 21 November.<\/p>\n

The administrators are hoping<\/a> to name a preferred bidder as soon as 5 December, as they seek a quick resolution to the current situation.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday owners preference<\/p>\n

When asked who their preferred option to take over the club is at this stage, FLW\u2019s Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> fan pundit Patrick McKenna claimed that he has no immediate name at the top of his list.<\/p>\n

His main hope is that whoever replaces Chansiri will look to foster a strong relationship with the supporters, will seek to invest in the team\u2019s infrastructure and will rejuvenate the Yorkshire outfit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it would be fair to say that I do have a chosen one, I\u2019m just delighted that so many people seem interested in buying the club,\u201d McKenna told Football League World.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd obviously at this stage, people are fronting the \u00a350 million, and they are getting access to the data room.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, really, I just want good owners, whoever they are, because a lot of the owners we don\u2019t know anything about.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, it\u2019s hard to judge, I suppose.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only ones I know about<\/a> are Mike Ashley, but it might not necessarily be him, and really I just want an owner that will look to rejuvenate the club, look to change in infrastructure, a change in the culture of the club and get us fighting again.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd whoever the owners are, I hope they communicate with the club and treat us as fans the way the administrators have been.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately, the highest bidder will win, so I just hope that the person chosen will be the best person for the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> have endured a difficult 2025 off the pitch, which has had a serious impact on their ability to compete on the pitch.<\/p>\n

The Owls are bottom of the Championship table, with a 12 point deduction penalty handed to them by the EFL as a consequence of going into administration only making matters worse.<\/p>\n

Henrik Pedersen\u2019s side are 17 points adrift of safety after just 15 games played, and are facing relegation at the end of the campaign.<\/p>\n

Next up for Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> is a huge clash at home against bitter rivals Sheffield United on 23 November in a 12pm kick-off.<\/p>\n

The fact that there are as many as 11 serious options to take over at Sheffield Wednesday is positive in itself.<\/p>\n

It also makes it difficult to have an immediate preference for who should take over, as there is still so much that\u2019s unknown about all 11 potential bidders.<\/p>\n

Supporters will be keen to see someone replace Chansiri that actually has the club\u2019s best interests at heart, as well as the finances to see through their vision for the team.<\/p>\n
