\n\tChristoph Schneider, Prime Video<\/a>\u2018s country chief in Germany<\/a>, is leaving Amazon<\/a> after 13 years.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis exit is the result of an internal restructure that eliminates his Country Director post and sees several other executive assuming his duties going forwards. German TV industry site dwdl.de was first to report the news.<\/p>\n

\n\tPrime Video confirmed his exit, which is understood to be amicable. It comes comes at a surprising juncture, with the second season of Prime Video YA hit Maxton Hall: The World Between Us having recently dropped to great fanfare.<\/p>\n

\n\tThough the show is set in an elite British public school and shot in English, it is made and commissioned out of Germany, and the second run has shot to the top of Prime Video\u2019s global charts in its first week following its November 7 launch. The show is Prime Video\u2019s most-successful non-English-language original series, and has a third season coming.<\/p>\n

\n\tHere\u2019s the detail, on the restructure. Stephan Bauer will acquisitions and licensing for Northern and Central Europe, with Max Pawlak taking on the transaction part of the Prime Video Germany operation. They will work out of Munich and report to Andrew Bennett, VP, Business Operations, Programming & Partnerships, Prime Video International, who is based in London. Philip Pratt continues in charge of German originals for Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>, reporting to Nicole Clemens, Vice President International Originals at Amazon MGM Studios.<\/p>\n

\n\tSchneider had been with Amazon since 2012, when the tech giant acquired video streamer Lovefilm. At the time, Lovefilm only operated in the UK and Germany. He remained as the streamer transitioned into Amazon Prime Video and then into Prime Video.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe became Country Manager for Prime Video in November 2022 as Kaspar Pfl\u00fcger exited following a short spell at Amazon. Prior to Amazon, Scheider was Managing Director of ProSiebenSat.1\u2019s streaming service Maxdome between 2010 and 2012. No word on his next move yet.<\/p>\n

\n\tIts been a significant period of change at the top of Germany\u2019s TV world, with Cl\u00e9ment Schwebig set to replace<\/a> Thomas Rabe at the top of RTL and MediaForEurope exec Marco Giordani taking over<\/a> from Bert Habets at ProSiebenSat.1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Christoph Schneider, Prime Video\u2018s country chief in Germany, is leaving Amazon after 13 years.
