Ibrahima Konate has been heavily linked with an exit ahead of his Liverpool contract expiring at the end of this season.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arne Slot<\/a>\u2019s side lost 3-0 to Manchester City\u00a0last time out, with\u00a0Konate slammed by Liverpool fans<\/a>\u00a0following his display at the Etihad Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong>\u00a0revealed on 6 November\u00a0Liverpool fear Konate could already be close to agreeing a deal<\/a>\u00a0away from Merseyside.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old is able to agree a pre-contract with overseas clubs from January onwards, with\u00a0Real Madrid<\/a> heavily linked with him in recent months.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trent Alexander-Arnold joined Real Madrid<\/a>\u00a0when his\u00a0Liverpool<\/a>\u00a0deal expired in June this year, sparking fury among the Anfield faithful.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Former Man City<\/a> financial adviser Stefan Borson<\/a> exclusively told Football Insider<\/strong> Liverpool could miss out on \u00a350million if Konate<\/a> leaves on a free transfer. <\/p>\n

The Reds signed the France international from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021 after activating his \u00a336m release clause. <\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, Borson said: \u201cOn any basis, even if he\u2019s out of form, he\u2019s worth \u00a350m, so you do your best to try and get him on a contract so that you can then sell him on or keep him. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure they are offering him a contract. I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll continue offering him a contract all the way through to the end of his contract, but it does seem like he\u2019s probably going to go, especially if he\u2019s got an offer. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf that offer is crystallised in January, as we know it can be to go abroad, then that\u2019ll be the end of that. It\u2019s likely he\u2019ll go on a free transfer now. When you get to this stage and with the noise, it feels like he\u2019s going to go. It\u2019s disappointing for Liverpool.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong>\u00a0revealed on Monday (17 November)\u00a0Liverpool are accelerating their plans to replace Konate<\/a> if the centre-back doesn\u2019t agree a new deal soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Borson insisted Real Madrid are causing a \u201cbig problem\u201d for clubs like Liverpool following their interest in Konate. <\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I think the way Real Madrid are throwing their power around in the market, even against teams like Liverpool, is a challenge for these clubs because it is disrupting contract negotiations,\u201d\u00a0said Borson.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Real Madrid put that player in their sights, you do have a big problem no matter who you are. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s tens of millions of pounds the difference between Konate or Alexander-Arnold signing the contract and not signing the contract each time.\u201d <\/p>\n

Konate has started in all 16 of his appearances for Liverpool this season, with Slot\u2019s side currently sitting eighth in the Premier League table. <\/p>\n
