Former All Blacks scrum-half Justin Marshall has claimed that England supporters were not \u201crespectful\u201d when the Haka was being performed.<\/b><\/p>\n

New Zealand visited Allianz Stadium, Twickenham for the third leg of their Grand Slam tour and before the match they performed their usual war dance.<\/p>\n

The English players responded by forming a semi-circle while the fans drowned out the noise of the Haka by singing \u2018Swing Low, Sweet Chariot\u2019.<\/p>\n

Marshall<\/a> had no problems with the England<\/a> team but he did take issue with fans for not staying silent during the routine.<\/p>\n

\u2018Negated\u2019 England\u2019s response<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I wasn\u2019t happy with from the English crowd was them singing \u2018Swing Low\u2019 while the All Blacks<\/a> were doing the Haka,\u201d he said on the GBRANZ podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just don\u2019t feel that it\u2019s respectful and I feel that it actually negated England\u2019s response to the Haka, which I thought was awesome.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way that they formed the shape that they did, they advanced forward. They actually respected and responded to the Haka in their manner, but the reverberations of \u2018Swing Low\u2019 being sung around the stadium, you couldn\u2019t hear the Haka.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt that England\u2019s response was basically affected by the crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do they think they\u2019re doing? They\u2019re not affecting the All Blacks, all they\u2019re doing is ruining it for those that actually want to see the Haka and England\u2019s response for the first time at the stadium.\u201d<\/p>\n

Host Andy Rowe agreed and even stated that his English friend was frustrated by the actions of his fellow supporters.<\/p>\n

\u2018He was fuming\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the point Marshy. I was with an English mate and he was complaining. He\u2019s English, he was there to watch England win and he was also there to watch the Haka, and he was fuming because you have some guys singing over the Haka all around you,\u201d Rowe said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt might sound cool on TV or in the pub, and you hear it, but the reality is, when you\u2019re there you have some d******* about two seats down who can\u2019t sing bleating out \u2018Swing Low, Sweet Chariot\u2019, and that\u2019s what you hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is not the first time England fans have sung \u2018Swing Low\u2019 during the Haka having done it when these teams have met in previous games at Twickenham.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just needs to be verbalised because I\u2019ve watched the All Blacks for basically forever and it\u2019s the only stadium in the world where people do that,\u201d Marshall added.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo other stadium in the world does it. Everybody else, whether it\u2019s Murrayfield, South Africa or Australia, when the Haka is being performed, the crowd are invested.\u201d<\/p>\n
