{"id":581010,"date":"2025-11-19T19:25:16","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T19:25:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/581010\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T19:25:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T19:25:16","slug":"pudsey-community-project-appeals-for-friends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/581010\/","title":{"rendered":"Pudsey Community Project appeals for friends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pudseycommunity.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pudsey Community Project<\/a> has launched an appeal for \u2018friends\u2019 to help support the charity\u2019s work. <\/p>\n<p>The lifeline project, based at Fartown, offers a food bank, food pantry, support for vulnerable people and Kids\u2019 Clothes reuse scheme among a range of community activities.<\/p>\n<p>This week they have launched the Friends of Pudsey Community Project scheme \u2014 inviting people to give vital regular financial support to help keep its services going.<\/p>\n<p>Posting on Facebook, the project said: \u201cTimes are tough for charities everywhere \u2014 and local community organisations like ours often lose out to big national or corporate charities when it comes to individuals\u2019 financial support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut our community needs us, and to keep going we need you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor over five years, Pudsey Community Project has been at the heart of local support and transformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks to our volunteers and donors, we\u2019ve been able to run:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A six-day-a-week foodbank, supporting 20,000 households over the years now, alongside our community pantry network, which between them support 500 people with food every single week of the year<\/li>\n<li>West Yorkshire\u2019s largest children\u2019s clothes reuse scheme, helping families save tens of thousands of pounds and protecting the planet at the same time<\/li>\n<li>Five weekly youth and children\u2019s sessions, offering safe, positive spaces for young people<\/li>\n<li>Mental health support, especially in bereavement<\/li>\n<li>Our popular weekly older people\u2019s lunch club<\/li>\n<li>Our thriving repair caf\u00e9<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201c\u2026and so much more that quietly, consistently transforms lives across our community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut none of this is possible without reliable, ongoing support. That\u2019s why we\u2019re launching the Friends of Pudsey Community Project scheme \u2014 inviting local people to stand with us by giving vital regular support of \u00a35 a month, \u00a310, or more if you can!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a Friend of PCP, you will:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Know you\u2019re directly supporting a local charity<\/li>\n<li>Receive a special email update<\/li>\n<li>Get an invitation to our spring supporters\u2019 event<\/li>\n<li>Be thanked on their website<\/li>\n<li>Receive your Friends of PCP thank you certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They added: \u201cIf you believe in local support, local compassion, and local change, please consider becoming a Friend of PCP today.
