{"id":581145,"date":"2025-11-19T20:51:18","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T20:51:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/581145\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T20:51:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T20:51:18","slug":"anna-v-phillips-the-nen-north-edinburgh-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/581145\/","title":{"rendered":"Anna V Phillips \u2013 The NEN \u2013 North Edinburgh News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\"><strong>Join us at granton:hub for our next exhibition, a 20 year retrospective from artist Anna V Phillips running Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nen.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/anna-v-phillips-exh.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1440\" height=\"1920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/anna-v-phillips-exh.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-217674\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Artist statement: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cBrought up in a very artistic home, I\u2019ve always had a deep love for art \u2013 but like many creative journeys, mine has taken a few detours along the way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I moved to Aberdeen in 1978, where I studied Occupational Therapy, and stayed until 2006, during which time I was married and raised three Children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I attended watercolour classes from 2003 \u2013 2006. These included drawing, acrylics, gouache and soft pastels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I lived in Houston, Texas for nine years (2006 \u2013 2015).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I volunteered at The Printing Museum, where I met Charles Criner (1945 \u2013 2025) the artist in residence.
