Anyone who\u2019s seen Alison Klayman\u2019s 2019 documentary The Brink will remember the scenes where Steve Bannon<\/a> and Nigel Farage<\/a> sit together discussing a pan-European nationalist populist \u201cMovement\u201d \u2013 with Bannon calling Farage<\/a> \u201cthe face\u201d of Brexit while they talk about stitching together far-right parties across the EU. Bannon tells Farage that he\u2019ll \u201cfund it somehow\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What those scenes didn\u2019t show is that the Brussels vehicle Bannon was about to claim as his own \u2013 The Movement \u2013 had actually been created out of Farage\u2019s network and that, in the background, Jeffrey Epstein was quietly helping Bannon plan, protect, and track his \u201cEuropean revolution\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Farage is not just a cameo, he is \u2018Mr Brexit\u2019 \u2013 the most famous and successful of Bannon\u2019s prot\u00e9g\u00e9s apart from Donald Trump<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

And Farage was wired into the legal shell of The Movement through his partner, Laure Ferrari, from day one \u2013 with an opaque dark money<\/a> funding structure suggested by Epstein.<\/p>\n

Farage\u2019s Partner Builds the Brussels Shell<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before Bannon ever announced his European project, a Brussels foundation with the same name already existed \u2013 built by individuals in Farage\u2019s world.<\/p>\n

On 9 January 2017, according to the deed quoted by FOIA Research<\/a>, a new foundation called Le Movement\/The Movement was founded in Belgium with the aim to unite \u201cpopulist and conservative movements in Europe\u201d, defending \u201cnational sovereignty\u201d, \u201ceffective national borders\u201d, the \u201cfight against radical Islam\u201d, and \u201cthe defence of Israel<\/a> as a sovereign state on its historic land\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was registered by the right-wing Belgian lawyer Mischa\u00ebl Modrikamen, his wife Yasmine Dehaene-Modrikamen, and Laure Ferrari, a prot\u00e9g\u00e9 and aide to the then UK MEP Nigel Farage, who was fresh from his success in leading the Leave.EU campaign during the 2016 EU Referendum.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ferrari had worked for Farage\u2019s UKIP, and then ran the Institute for Direct Democracy in Europe \u2013 a Farage-linked think tank later accused (alongside the Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe) of diverting EU funds into UKIP campaigning.<\/p>\n

Today, Ferrari is openly Farage\u2019s partner, so close to the Reform UK<\/a> Leader that the house he said he had bought<\/a> in his Clacton parliamentary constituency is actually owned by her.<\/p>\n

Modrikamen told FOIA Research that he had circulated a memo about The Movement to like-minded parties, but nothing much happened until Farage told him that his long-term friend and ally, Cambridge Analytica<\/a> co-founder and Breitbart<\/a> CEO, Steve Bannon, wanted to meet.<\/p>\n

Modrikamen recalls that at this lunch, \u201cit clicked\u201d; that he and Bannon \u201cabsolutely shared the same convictions\u201d, and that Bannon agreed to adopt the foundation as his Brussels hub.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Modrikamen told Reuters<\/a> that the organisation would provide a pan-European \u201clink between the Movement started by President DJ Trump<\/a> in the USA and citizens and political movements in other countries, including the Brexit campaign\u201d.<\/p>\n

So by the time The Brink cameras caught Bannon and Farage talking about a European \u201cMovement\u201d, Farage\u2019s own circle had already built the corporate shell, and Farage himself had brokered the deal that handed it to Bannon.<\/p>\n

This is the structure into which Jeffrey Epstein walked.<\/p>\n

\u2018Donors to My Revolution\u2019: Bannon Turns to Epstein<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 8 October 2017, a few weeks after Steve Bannon had left the White House as President Donald Trump\u2019s Chief of Staff, journalist Michael Wolff emailed Bannon asking: \u201cHow\u2019s it looking\u2026?\u201d From Connecticut, Bannon replied: <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in CT with donors to my revolution now all day\u2026 can we meet tomorrow?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Wolff proposed a meeting with the disgraced sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein \u2013 \u201cJE leaves for Paris tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. Could meet before or tonight\u201d.<\/p>\n

Over the next year, as Byline Times<\/a> has reported in these pages, those contacts deepened.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Epstein became a patron, fixer, and informal strategist; while Bannon pitched the Trump-\u2018MAGA\u2019 machine as something that could shield Epstein politically if he backed the cause.<\/p>\n

EXCLUSIVE<\/p>\n

Emails and text messages reveal Jeffrey Epstein had a direct line into Donald Trump\u2019s inner circle while Bannon worked to rehabilitate him in the hours before his arrest<\/p>\n

By June 2018, the released text messages show that Epstein offered Bannon accommodation on his island and Palm Beach house \u201canytime\u201d he needed privacy, arranged dinners for him in Paris, and proposed to fly him on to Italy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Epstein commented on Bannon\u2019s TV appearances, sent him clippings about \u201cBannonism\u201d, and joked with lines like \u201cthe power of Christ compels u\u201d, while urging him to \u201ccontinue tomorrow \u2013 focus on Miller ;)\u201d \u2013 almost certainly a reference to Trump aide Stephen Miller and the immigration<\/a> agenda.<\/p>\n

In other words, as Farage\u2019s partners built the Brussels foundation and Farage introduced Bannon to Modrikamen, Epstein was already acting as Bannon\u2019s host, cheerleader, and fixer.<\/p>\n

Rome with Salvini: \u201cAhhh, the Power of Dark\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The messages around 7-9 September 2018 reveal that Bannon was then in Rome, where he was courting Italy\u2019s far-right interior minister Matteo Salvini.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to contemporaneous reports<\/a>, Bannon met Salvini at this time, with Salvini later pledging support for Bannon\u2019s Brussels project, and Bannon saying that he wanted to help populists win enough seats to \u201cblow up\u201d the EU from within. Epstein\u2019s texts mirrored that timeline.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On 7 September, he noted that Bannon was in \u201cRome thru Sunday\u201d, praised his \u201cgreat work\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bannon replied that he could \u201cfeel this turning now\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Epstein joked: \u201cHopefully you are sitting on Salvini\u2019s lap.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bannon replied: \u201cVice versa.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Epstein responded \u201clol\u201d, then adding a telling line: \u201cBut he is unaware\u2026 Ahhh the power of dark.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next night, Epstein raised the stakes: \u201cIf you guys want to come to Paris I\u2019ll send plane.\u201d<\/p>\n

He asked when Bannon was heading back to the US. Bannon explained that his plans had changed repeatedly \u2013 \u201cso many interesting things\u201d \u2013 and that he was \u201cin meetings in Rome right now\u201d, before sketching out a likely return via New York.<\/p>\n

On 8 September 2018, Epstein sent one of the key messages in the entire cache: <\/p>\n

\u201cAs you move into more institutional international arrangements, the tension between 501 c4 opaque, and FARA transparency needs bright light focus. No stepping on your dick allowed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He was referring to 501(c)(4) \u201csocial welfare\u201d organisations \u2013 the US non-profit status used by many \u2018dark money\u2019 political groups \u2013 and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). His advice? That these vehicles were \u201copaque\u201d but sensitive; and that Bannon had to be \u201csurgically pure\u201d on registrations and disclosures.<\/p>\n

A follow-up by Epstein suggested that Bannon should keep his own name clear by having \u201csomeone on your behalf request FARA opinions\u201d from the US Justice Department.<\/p>\n

The next day, Epstein referenced George Soros (by his birth name, Gy\u00f6rgy Schwartz) \u2013 saying that he <\/p>\n

\u201c[Soros] was careful not to register under FARA\u2026 NGOs were carefully structured. My reading is that you can form a media<\/a> co and make that the umbrella exemption\u2026 The media co has lots of advantages. Source privilege etc.\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
