A stalker who called a woman up to 100 times a day from withheld numbers and turned up to places he knew she would be has been jailed.<\/p>\n

Thomas McGinn left threatening voicemails, contacted his victim’s relative and created fake social media profiles to harass her.<\/p>\n

McGinn also sent unwanted gifts, cash transfers and followed her.<\/p>\n

Finally, McGinn sent the victim distressing images of himself self-harming and refused to seek help or stop until she attended his address.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old, from Stratford-upon-Avon, was arrested in March after she contacted Warwickshire<\/a> Police and disclosed that she had been subjected to coercive and controlling behaviour for months.<\/p>\n

He was arrested and charged with controlling and coercive behaviour and stalking involving serious distress.<\/p>\n

On November 10 at Warwick Crown Court, McGinn was jailed for one year and four months, and three months to run concurrently \u2013 meaning the three months is served at the same time.<\/p>\n

The judge also granted a lifetime restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim.<\/p>\n

After the hearing, Det Con Emma Garrett said: \u201cThe victim showed extraordinary courage in breaking the silence and reporting the abuse she endured. She was determined to seek justice and protect herself and others from harm.<\/p>\n
