{"id":581583,"date":"2025-11-20T01:52:40","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T01:52:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/581583\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T01:52:40","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T01:52:40","slug":"assisted-living-flats-approved-on-wortley-scrub-land","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/581583\/","title":{"rendered":"Assisted living flats approved on Wortley scrub land"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>By John Baron<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A block of flats providing homes for young adults with assisted living needs has been given the green light.<\/p>\n<p>Fifteen flats have been granted planning permission on scrub land behind an existing convenience store off Lower Wortley Road.<\/p>\n<p>The development includes one-bedroom flats, along with a residents\u2019 lounge, manager\u2019s office and 17 parking spaces.<\/p>\n<p>A planning statement submitted with the application said: \u201cThe likely occupants will be young adults. The proposed development will create a sensible number of new homes for the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis development is not city centre executive apartments or executive five-bedroom houses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Leeds City Council planning officer\u2019s report approving the plans concluded: \u201cThe development is not considered to be harmful to the character and appearance of the area, nor would it have a harmful impact on highway safety. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe scheme therefore provides much-needed affordable housing whilst providing off-site funds to enhance existing greenspace within the ward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The latest plans and reports <a href=\"https:\/\/publicaccess.leeds.gov.uk\/online-applications\/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=SJYRPKJBKDL00&amp;activeTab=summary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be read in full here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/westleedsdispatch.com\/block-of-15-flats-for-young-adults-proposed-for-wortley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported by WLD<\/a>, the proposals were first submitted last December.
