The piper who played on the pitch ahead of Scotland\u2019s World Cup qualifying win <\/a>over Denmark has said it was an \u201cincredible honour\u201d to do so.<\/p>\n

Major Stevie Small, performance director at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo<\/a>, played Flower Of Scotland ahead of the kick-off at Hampden Park on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Scotland secured their place at next summer\u2019s World Cup <\/a>in North America with a 4-2 win over Denmark in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

It is the first time the country <\/a>has qualified for the men\u2019s World Cup since 1998.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the match, Major Small said: \u201cLeading the Scotland team<\/a> in the national anthem on the night we qualified for the 2026 World Cup was an incredible honour.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere at Hampden was the best I\u2019ve ever experienced, the crowd <\/a>were so loud I could barely hear myself play.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took me right back to when Kenny Dalglish scored <\/a>against Wales in 77 to send us to Argentina.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with the Tattoo has opened the door to so many unexpected opportunities <\/a>like this and I feel genuinely privileged.<\/p>\n
