Detectives investigating a serious assault in Leeds which left a man with life-changing injuries have renewed an appeal for information nearly 10 months on from the incident.<\/p>\n
An appeal for witnesses<\/strong><\/a> was made shortly after the attack, which occurred on Tempest Place, Beeston, on Tuesday 28 January 2025.<\/p>\n The victim, Dawud Aslam, has long-lasting physical and mental health issues as a result of the attack, which is being investigated as an attempt murder.<\/p>\n Detective Constable Ian Duncan, of Leeds CID, said:<\/p>\n \u201cSignificant enquiries have been going on behind the scenes but at this time we have not identified the person responsible for this horrific attack.<\/p>\n \u201cDawud was struck to the head multiple times and suffered a number of fractures to the skull. He had to undergo emergency surgery and is lucky to be alive.<\/p>\n \u201cThe physical and mental impact of this assault is something he is continuing to live with though. He has been left with cognitive issues and an understandable fear when going out that something like this will happen again.<\/p>\n \u201cA lot can change in ten months, including people\u2019s loyalties. It is possible that someone may have heard rumours at the time about who was involved but not thought it was worth passing that information on to the police as they had not witnessed the crime themselves. We want to get justice for Dawud, and I would urge anyone who has any information about this offence, however small it may seem, to please make contact.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The offence happened at just after 8:30pm on Tuesday 28 January, on Tempest Place, Beeston. A lone man approached Dawud and his brother as they were parked up unloading shopping from a car.
