Newcastle United<\/a> star Bruno Guimaraes has hailed Manchester United<\/a> midfielder Casemiro<\/a> as \u2018a complete player\u2019 and one of his biggest \u2018idols\u2019.<\/p>\n Casemiro won five Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles during his brilliant decade-long spell at Real Madrid<\/a>.<\/p>\n His reputation has taken a hit since he joined Manchester United for \u00a370m in 2022<\/a>, with the 33-year-old largely struggling during his first two seasons at Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n Casemiro looked so unconvincing Liverpool<\/a> legend and ex-England defender Jamie Carragher<\/a> said the \u2018football had left him\u2019 and insisted United should move him on<\/a>.<\/p>\n However, Casemiro has managed to revive his Red Devils career and been one of Ruben Amorim<\/a>\u2019s most consistent players so far this season.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tYour ultimate guide to the football season\t\t\t<\/p>\n Metro’s football newsletter: In The Mixer. Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every Friday \u2013 sign up<\/a>, it’s an open goal.<\/p>\n Casemiro was expected to leave Manchester United at the end of his contract next summer but reports say his upturn in form could earn him an extension<\/a>, if he agrees to take a pay-cut.<\/p>\n Newcastle\u2019s Guimaraes, rated as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, believes Casemiro has been \u2018a complete player\u2019 during his trophy-laden career and one of his biggest \u2018inspirations\u2019.<\/p>\n \t\t Casemiro continues to add to his tally of Brazil caps well into his 30s and hopes to be part of Carlo Ancelotti\u2019s squad \u2013 along with Guimaraes \u2013 for next summer\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n Asked about Casemiro\u2019s attributes after Brazil\u2019s 1-1 friendly draw with Tunisia on Tuesday night, Guimaraes said: \u2018Look at his experience, his titles\u2026 he\u2019s a complete player.<\/p>\n \u2018His career speaks for itself. In one of my first interviews with the national team, in 2020, when I\u00a0arrived\u00a0they asked if I was inspired by anyone in midfield, and I said his name, Casemiro.<\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s also an idol there for everything he\u2019s done, especially at Real Madrid, the five\u00a0Champions League\u00a0titles.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018A guy that everyone who plays in Brazilian midfield talks about, Casemiro is the guy we\u00a0have to\u00a0follow.<\/p>\n \u2018So\u00a0I think\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a bit of everything,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0a leader, certainly playing there as a number 8 is a position where I feel more comfortable,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a position I also play at Newcastle.<\/p>\n \u2018I think it\u2019s a perfect match and things are starting to go well.\u2019<\/p>\n Brazil boss Ancelotti has made no secret of his admiration for Casemiro, who he also managed while in charge of Real Madrid.<\/p>\n After his first win as Brazil manager<\/a>, Ancelotti said Casemiro\u2019s \u2018quality and leadership\u2019 was \u2018very strong\u2019.<\/p>\n In September, meanwhile, Ancelotti insisted Casemiro was \u2018impossible\u2019 to replace due to his unique set of characteristics<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018Looking for a midfielder with Casemiro\u2019s characteristics is impossible,\u2019 the former Real Madrid boss said. \u2018There\u2019s no other Brazilian player who has the same characteristics as Casemiro.\u2019<\/p>\n Casemiro will now return to Manchester United following the conclusion of the November international break.
