{"id":582905,"date":"2025-11-20T16:50:18","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T16:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/582905\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T16:50:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T16:50:18","slug":"new-hope-for-brand-usas-funding-with-proposed-visit-usa-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/582905\/","title":{"rendered":"New hope for Brand USA\u2019s funding with proposed VISIT USA Act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO \u2014 Could Brand USA recoup some of its lost funding?<\/p>\n<p>The DMO took a massive hit in July 2025 when its budget was slashed, from US$100 million to $20 million, by the U.S. administration.<\/p>\n<p>Then in September came word of layoffs, as part of a corporate reorganization, as Brand USA\u2019s SVP, Public Relations &amp; Chief Communications Officer, Chris Heywood,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelweek.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Chris-Heywood.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Travelweek<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now there\u2019s new proposed legislation that could get some of Brand USA\u2019s crucial funding back.<\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S. Travel Association, the VISIT USA Act, introduced in Congress yesterday, would restore critical funding to Brand USA as the nation prepares to host a decade of global events including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, America 250 and the 2028 Summer Olympics.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation would ensure Brand USA has the resources to promote the U.S. abroad, attract international visitors and deliver on the full economic promise of these historic events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe VISIT USA Act is a smart, bipartisan fix that ensures America competes on the global stage,\u201d said U.S. Travel\u2019s President and CEO, Geoff Freeman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TORONTO \u2014 Could Brand USA recoup some of its lost funding?
