The last social media <\/a>post of Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield<\/a>, who passed away on Thursday aged 63, was a tribute to his late wife Imelda.<\/p>\n It is almost two years to the day<\/a> since Imelda’s tragic death. She passed away in November, 2023, after a three year battle with stage four bowel cancer. The couple shared twin boys, Gene and George, 12, who were born in January 2013.<\/p>\n In an emotional tribute posted to Facebook<\/a> on Tuesday, the Stone Roses<\/a> and Primal Scream frontman shared five pictures of his late wife and wrote: “Today marks the second anniversary of my Imelda’s passing\u2026 we miss her every day, but we have learnt to adapt to her being in “the next room”.\u2026 we cant see or touch you, but we feel your presence every day\u2026 rest well my love.”<\/p>\n While no details about Mani’s death have yet been officially shared, an outpouring of shock and sadness<\/a> has greeted the Manchester legend’s passing.<\/p>\n Tim Burgess, lead singer for The Charlatans, described him as a “beautiful friend”, adding: “One of the absolute best in every way.” Oasis<\/a> frontman Liam Gallagher<\/a> said he was in “total shock” and feeling “devastated” after hearing the news.<\/p>\n Mani’s uncle Greg shared the news of his passing on Facebook<\/a> earlier this afternoon. He wrote: “IT IS WITH THE HEAVIEST OF HEARTS THAT I HAVE TO ANNOUNCE THE SAD PASSING OF MY BROTHER GARY MANI MOUNFIELD. RIP RKID.”<\/p>\n Just last week, the Crumpsall<\/a> native announced a solo tour of the UK<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Stone Roses, Primal Scream, and Me – An Intimate Evening with Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield would have seen him visit much of Britain throughout late 2026 and early 2027.<\/p>\n Mani shot to fame with the Stone Roses in the late 1980s, but they went their separate ways in 1996.
