Sheffield Wednesday are still on the hunt for more free agents despite welcoming a number of potential new signings into training.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Owls were severely hampered in their summer business by former owner Dejphon Chansiri\u2019s financial mismanagement, which saw them placed under numerous transfer embargoes.<\/p>\n

This ultimately limited Wednesday\u2019s<\/a> activity to just loan deals for Ethan Horvath and Harry Amass, which immediately put them on the back foot in the chase for survival.<\/p>\n

Since then, Chansiri reluctantly placed the Steel City side into administration after being unable to satisfy a \u00a31m HMRC bill, which meant supporters no longer protested on matchdays and began to supply their club with increased revenue.<\/p>\n

Evidence of this increased cash flow meant that they were granted permission by the EFL to add two free agents to their squad at this moment in time.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday continuing search for more free agents<\/p>\n

After first trying to get a deal done in the summer, former Leeds United captain Liam Cooper was snapped up as the first free agent Wednesday signed.<\/p>\n

Since then, it emerged<\/a> that Duncan Watmore and Nathan Redmond were both also training with the Owls, giving Henrik Pedersen more options to choose from as he looks to secure another addition.<\/p>\n

However, it seems like Wednesday<\/a> aren\u2019t done there.<\/p>\n

As per<\/a> BBC Sheffield, Pedersen has confirmed that his side are exploring options beyond that pair and will continue searching the market in due course.<\/p>\n

It is believed<\/a> that the club aren\u2019t in a rush to secure their second free agent and want to make sure they\u2019re selecting the best possible profile.<\/p>\n

Former Manchester United prospect Timothy Fosu-Mensah has been one name linked<\/a> with a potential move to the Owls, after leaving German outfit Bayer Leverkusen in 2024.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday must get their second free agent selection correct<\/p>\n

At this moment in time, Wednesday<\/a> only has availability to sign one more free agent, after snapping up Cooper.<\/p>\n

Given how threadbare the Owls\u2019 squad still is, they must make sure they\u2019re making the correct decision when selecting who they will use the second space on.<\/p>\n

A prospect such as Fosu-Mensah has played at a high level in the past, but hasn\u2019t competed in professional football for well over a year, which means that he wouldn\u2019t be able to compete immediately.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s exactly the opposite of what Pedersen needs, which is why Watmore and Redmond may have an advantage over the former Manchester United defender.<\/p>\n
