Former Three Lions midfielder Jack Wilshere insists England fans must put their trust in Thomas Tuchel to deliver the World Cup. Ex-Arsenal star Wilshere went to the 2014 World Cup and got picked ahead of the 2018 tournament but did not make the cut for Russia<\/a> which still hurts him.<\/p>\n

But Wilshere now firmly believes that Tuchel is the elite manager England have needed for years to help them finally get a star-studded squad over the line.<\/p>\n

Wilshere, 33, said: \u201cI said to my dad: \u2018Thomas is there and in Thomas we trust. Let\u2019s trust him, you see what he\u2019s doing with the team. For years, I think everyone was looking and saying: \u2018we\u2019ve got the best team, the best players, can we get the best coach now.\u2019 I feel we\u2019re there with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean we are going to win the World Cup but with the players we\u2019ve got, with the options we\u2019ve got, the creative players, the deep lying midfielders and the quality on the sides, with Harry Kane<\/a> up front and now, with a top, top coach, we are closer than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilshere has pointed to England\u2019s wealth of talent as the reason they can go all the way next summer. He has enjoyed watching their progress under Tuchel and particularly the 2-0 win over Serbia when Bukayo Saka<\/a> and Eberechi Eze scored.<\/p>\n

\u201cI watched it closely enough to know that Arsenal<\/a> won the game!\u201d he laughed as he also insisted that England\u2019s midfield of Declan Rice<\/a> and Elliot Anderson is top class.<\/p>\n

Wilshere added: \u201cI love Dec. Everyone knows my relationship with Dec but take that<\/a> away and I think he\u2019s outstanding.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs he a six, is an eight or a ten? He can do everything. We need to create midfielders that do that.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnderson next to him, I think he\u2019s outstanding because he can do everything. He tries to play forward. He\u2019s got a lot of quality.\u201d<\/p>\n
