Tottenham are eyeing an ambitious deal to sign Marcus Rashford from Man United this summer if his permanent move to Aston Villa falls through.<\/strong><\/p>\n That is according to former Man United and Tottenham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his former clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider<\/strong> that the North London club have looked into the possibility of a deal.<\/p>\n However, Rashford wants to play Champions League football and is not convinced a move to Spurs would be best at this stage of his career.<\/p>\n Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> in January that Rashford wants to join Barcelona<\/a> and would be open to a permanent move abroad should an offer arrive.<\/p>\n He is also unwilling to take a substantial pay cut on his \u00a3350,000 weekly wage at United which could further complicate the deal.<\/p>\n This comes after Football Insider<\/strong> revealed Rashford will have to take a wage cut<\/a> to join Aston Villa permanently Robinson told Football Insider<\/strong> that Tottenham must win the Europa League<\/a> if they want to stand a chance of signing Rashford.<\/p>\n Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted it is unlikely that the England international will land in North London this summer.<\/p>\n \u201cTottenham are looking into what it would take to sign Rashford,\u201d he told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cBut they have to make a decision about what direction they\u2019re going in.<\/p>\n \u201cYou can\u2019t just throw a load of players in and hope it works, they need to find some stability and I don\u2019t think that\u2019s what Marcus would give them.<\/p>\n \u201cFrom what I hear, he\u2019s not convinced by that move either.<\/p>\n \u201cHe wants to be playing Champions League football and competing at the highest level.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m also not sure he\u2019s going to want to take a big pay cut.<\/p>\n \u201cPlus, Tottenham aren\u2019t going to pay his wages and I think that\u2019s going to be a problem for him, because Villa won\u2019t be paying that amount of money either.<\/p>\n \u201cSo it looks like it might be difficult to do, I don\u2019t think he\u2019ll end up at Tottenham to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n Another deal Spurs have been targeting ahead of the summer is the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich following his loan spell.<\/p>\n However, Brown told Football Insider<\/strong> that Tel is unlikely to remain at Tottenham<\/a> as the club will not meet the \u00a342.5million buy-out clause in his loan contract.<\/p>\n Instead, they will try to renegotiate a more reasonable price tag, there is still a possibility that he will make the permanent move to North London.<\/p>\n This comes after\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>\u00a0revealed\u00a0Tottenham will not pay Tel\u2019s \u00a345million buy
