The retiree reached out to HMRC via social media site X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The state pensioner said: &#8220;In December I start receiving state pension. I&#8217;ve notified DWP of this and Carer&#8217;s Allowance will end. Do you update my income details and tax codes automatically or do I need to notify you and if so how is best way?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">HMRC said: &#8220;The DWP will tell us about the state pension, but you should tell us about any change to the Carer&#8217;s Allowance. You can contact the helpline either by phone, webchat or post.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/motoring\/motoring-news\/new-10mph-speed-limit-england-32763842\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:READ MORE New 10mph speed limit in England &#039;for next six months&#039; with drivers warned;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><b>READ MORE New 10mph speed limit in England &#8216;for next six months&#8217; with drivers warned<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">You cannot get the full amount of both Carer\u2019s Allowance and your State Pension at the same time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">If your pension is \u00a383.30 a week or more, you will not get a Carer\u2019s Allowance payment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">If your pension is less than \u00a383.30 a week, you\u2019ll get a Carer\u2019s Allowance payment to make up the difference.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">If your State Pension is more than \u00a383.30 a week, you will not get a Carer\u2019s Allowance payment but your Pension Credit payments will increase instead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Carer&#8217;s Allowance supports people who provide care for someone for more than 35 hours weekly, provided the care recipient receives certain benefits. The DWP benefit provides \u00a383.30 a week, or \u00a34,331.60 annually.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">You need to spend at least 35 hours a week caring for someone.
