Alan Shearer has claimed Benjamin Sesko’s injury<\/a> will not have too much of an impact on Manchester United<\/a>‘s progress in the Premier League.<\/p>\n The Slovenia international picked up a knee injury during United’s last match ahead of November’s break, in which, the Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>. As a result, Sesko missed his nation’s final two World Cup<\/a> qualifiers against Kosovo and Sweden, while it is estimated that he could miss a month’s worth of football.<\/p>\n Despite United being left without a striker they paid \u00a374million to RB Leipzig for<\/a> this summer, Newcastle United<\/a> hero Shearer<\/a> doesn’t think that Ruben Amorim<\/a> will struggle during his absence. Speaking via Betfair, Shearer said: “Benjamin Sesko’s injury won’t impact Man Utd too much.<\/p>\n “Ruben Amorim has already shown that, if you’re not up to it, he won’t play you. He’s already made enough big decisions not to be phased by what the outside noise is.<\/p>\n “I don’t suspect that bothers him at all. He’d love Sesko to be fit, come off the bench and have an impact, but he won’t have that option.”<\/p>\n Sesko was one of a number of big-money arrivals at Old Trafford<\/a> this summer, as Amorim worked to overhaul the squad that he inherited from Erik ten Hag last November, with United also welcoming the likes of Bryan Mbeumo<\/a>, Matheus Cunha<\/a> and Senne Lammens<\/a> to the ranks.<\/p>\n And Shearer also believes Amorim is well-equipped in terms of squad depth to continue to thrive in the Premier League<\/a>. He added: “Given how well the likes of Cunha and Mbuemo have been [doing] since joining, it’s not as if Sesko’s injury is a disaster. Results are improving at Man Utd.”<\/p>\n After a lacklustre 15th-place finish in the top-flight standings last campaign, the United board will have expected improved performances from Amorim and his squad after allowing him a sizable transfer budget this summer – as well as a full pre-season tour to fine tune his squad.<\/p>\n And despite a mixed-bag of results early doors, it appears as though the club’s Portuguese tactician has finally started to find his stride. As it stands, United sit seventh in the Premier League<\/a> standings – with five wins, three draws and three losses to show for their efforts this term.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, they are also unbeaten in their last five outings, courtesy of wins over Sunderland, rivals Liverpool<\/a> and Brighton, plus draws with Nottingham Forest and Spurs. Fans will be expecting to see their side pick up where they left off earlier this month when top flight action resumes for the Reds on Monday night.<\/p>\n Amorim has the honour of welcoming a revitalised Everton side under the tutelage of David Moyes<\/a> to Old Trafford<\/a> next week.
