Police have issued a statement after a teenage girl was reportedly offered a lift when at a bus stop in Oldham<\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n

It was reported that the victim had been asked if she wanted to get into an unknown car, being driven by an unknown person, while waiting for a bus in the Saddleworth<\/a> area. It’s said to have happened in the Dobcross area, but the exact location has not been confirmed.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said the incident is currently under investigation. However, the force said the offer was made ‘during a period of heavy rain’.<\/p>\n

A post on social media shared over the weekend claimed the incident happened on Saturday afternoon and that the ‘black SUV’ pulled up at the bus top before she was approached.<\/p>\n

In a statement, police said no threats of violence was made and that no violence was caused to anyone in the incident. Enquiries are ongoing currently.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: \u201cWe were called to reports of an incident that a 14-year-old girl was offered a lift by an unknown person driving an unknown vehicle whilst stood at a bus stop in the Saddleworth area during a period of heavy rain.<\/p>\n
