The 29-year-old returns to the Betfred Super League with the Saints following four seasons in the NRL with the Newcastle Knights and Wests Tigers.<\/p>\n

In his previous spell in the UK, Hastings featured for both Wigan and Salford, reaching Grand Finals with each side. During his time with the Red Devils, he was crowned the Steve Prescott Man of Steel in 2019. That same year, he was selected for the Great Britain tour and featured in all four Test matches.<\/p>\n

Speaking to saintsrlfc.com about joining St.Helens and returning to the UK, Jackson Hastings said: \u201cI\u2019m really excited! I\u2019ve got a young family now, my partner\u2019s English, and it\u2019ll be great for my daughter to meet that side of the family and experience the English culture that\u2019s in my blood, too. I\u2019m just buzzing to get over, settle my family, and be part of the Saints family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having had the experience of returning home to Australia and playing in the NRL, Hastings believes he will return to Super League as a more rounded person and player.<\/p>\n

\u201cCertainly on the life side of things, I\u2019ve been through a lot \u2013 big lessons. On the playing side of things, I think I\u2019m coming back realising what I\u2019m best at: organising, kicking well, getting the team around the park, and then taking chances when they come. I\u2019m ready to put my best foot forward for this club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having come up against St.Helens in big matches, including Grand Finals, Jackson knows the expectation that comes with pulling on the Red V jersey and shared his excitement to join our squad.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been on the wrong side of Saints history a couple of times, so I\u2019m looking forward to joining the right side at such a great club. Every time I played Saints, it was a brilliant game. Everyone knows their role, is super fit, defensively intimidating, and always professional and well organised.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coming to work under a coach he knows very well, with Paul Rowley, is another prospect Hastings is relishing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know Rowls\u2019 [Paul Rowley\u2019s] style of play, I had him at Salford when we made the Grand Final against Saints, so it\u2019s a bit of a full-circle moment, to be honest. I think his style suits me \u2013 hard-working with a bit of flair.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, to our supporters, Jackson Hastings stated his desire to become a part of our local community, adding,\u00a0\u201cI want to feel welcomed, and the best way I can earn that is by giving my all, on and off the field. I pride myself on being active in the community, so I want to immerse myself in St Helens to be accepted for who I am through my actions and effort. The goal next year is to be successful and lift trophies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t wait to get over, meet everyone and get stuck into training ahead of what I\u2019m sure will be a great year.\u201d <\/p>\n

Saints\u2019 Head Coach Paul Rowley added:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m really pleased to welcome Jackson to the Saints,\u201d Rowley said.<\/p>\n
