Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday remain in talks over extending Harry Amass\u2019 loan spell, and it has now been revealed why an agreement between the two clubs hasn\u2019t been reached.<\/p>\n

United open to extending Amass\u2019 loan stay<\/p>\n

Since joining Wednesday on the final day of the summer transfer window, Amass has been on an upward trajectory in terms of his development.<\/p>\n

Since his debut, which lasted 68 minutes, Amass has started all of Wednesday\u2019s subsequent 11 fixtures. He has nailed down the left-wing-back position under Henrik Pedersen, who has repeatedly spoken glowingly of the United talent and his sky-high potential.<\/p>\n

United initially agreed for Amass to stay with Wednesday until January, which means the Red Devils retain the option to recall him.<\/p>\n

Due to Wednesday\u2019s financial troubles, United are covering the costs of Amass\u2019 loan move, including his wages.<\/p>\n

A report<\/a> covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Ruben Amorim\u2019s side have no desire to bring Amass back to Old Trafford. They are satisfied with his progress at Wednesday and don\u2019t want to disrupt it.<\/p>\n

However, an agreement over a longer stay at Hillsborough has yet to be found and according to The Star, this is because there are details that need to be adjusted.<\/p>\n

Amass delay explained<\/p>\n

The Star<\/a> point out, \u201cSome weeks on, The Star\u2019s understanding of the situation per sources is that though all parties appear content with the progress of the loan, no solid agreement between the two clubs has yet been made and talks are ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is believed that the loan will have to be re-jigged in order for Amass to stay on at S6 and it is hoped this can be achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pedersen has consistently maintained that he wants to keep Amass until the end of the season. It sounds like an agreement is still on track and a compromise will eventually be struck.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood<\/a> that there are plans to promote Amass and fellow loanee Radek Vitek to the United first team next season. Vitek is also doing well in the Championship with Bristol City.<\/p>\n

Wednesday currently lie at the bottom of the table after they were hit with a points deduction.<\/p>\n
