Leeds United have set their sights on a deal to sign Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia on loan ahead of the January transfer window.<\/strong><\/p>\n Garcia, 21, has made nine appearances for Los Blancos so far this season but is keen to leave on loan to gain more regular playing time elsewhere.<\/p>\n As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a><\/strong>, Leeds<\/a> have identified him as an option to strengthen up front, and are prepared to explore a deal for his signature if he is made available on loan in January.<\/p>\n Despite growing interest from a number of Premier League sides, Real Madrid<\/a> have yet to make a decision about letting the striker leave mid-way through the season.<\/p>\n However, Endrick is expected to leave Real Madrid<\/a> in January, further reducing the depth of their squad in what could be a blow to Leeds\u2019 chances of landing Garcia.<\/p>\n Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 1 November that Endrick is likely to join Lyon<\/a>, in a blow to both West Ham and Man United who had been interested in the Brazil star.<\/p>\n An agreement over that move is now \u201cclose\u201d, and could force Real Madrid to keep hold of Garcia despite the growing interest from Leeds United.<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Speaking on the Inside Track podcast<\/strong>, I explained: \u201cObviously if the opportunity is there for Leeds United to try and sign Garcia it\u2019s something they would have to look into for sure.<\/p>\n \u201cGoals have been a problem for Leeds this season, there\u2019s no getting away from that.<\/p>\n \u201cThe summer signings of Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin only have three goals between them, and they need to add more goals if they have any chance of staying up.<\/p>\n \u201cGarcia, young player, has found minutes hard to come by at Real Madrid this season and there\u2019s no surprise that he\u2019s found it hard to get into Xabi Alonso\u2019s team.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you\u2019ve got the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vini Jr ahead of you, it\u2019s going to be tough.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re already close to agreeing a loan move for Endrick as well so again Real Madrid wouldn\u2019t have a lot of other striking options in their side if there\u2019s any injuries to the like of Mbappe or Vini Jr.<\/p>\n \u201cSo he\u2019s probably one to keep an eye on in January, but a lot will depend on Real Madrid\u2019s injuries, especially with Endrick leaving already.\u201d<\/p>\n Leeds set sights on agreeing striker deal in January<\/p>\n A key frustration amongst the Leeds fans so far this season has been their lack of attacking threat, with\u00a0Calvert-Lewin<\/a>\u00a0failing to provide a source of goals.<\/p>\n As a result, Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 7 September that Leeds are concerned about their attacking options<\/a>, and could look to bolster their squad in January.<\/p>\n Farke has set his sights on one position in particular which he is desperate to upgrade, with a new striker at the top of his list of priorities for the January transfer window.<\/p>\n Brown warned Football Insider<\/strong> on 16 September that Leeds are in big trouble<\/a> as a result of their lack of firepower and are at growing risk of being relegated.<\/p>\n Leeds have found the net just 10
