One of the city\u2019s best-loved breweries, however, has been missing from the area it was founded in for the best part of 18 months \u2013 that is, until now.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meantime brewery in Greenwich shut back in May 2024,\u00a0after its owner Asahi decided to move production to west London. This month the\u00a0popular chain reopened in southeast London in a new-look venue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new drinking destination is called The Dial, and you\u2019ll find it at North Greenwich. As well as serving up classic Meantime pints like Midnight Nitro Brew Stout, Dial Lager and Cutty Haze \u2013 which are brewed on site \u2013 the place also serves food and shows live sport and local music.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meantime Brewery was founded by Alastair Hook in his Greenwich flat in 1999 as a\u00a0venture\u00a0to make beer for his neighbours.\u00a0The brand\u00a0became the staple brew both in the borough and throughout London before being acquired by Asahi in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"782eac29-de72-9c03-0e4b-88cf8c1bf091\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1763730140_726_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"Meantime Brewery at The Dial, Greenwich\" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: Meantime Brewery\" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106344291\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: Meantime Brewery&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the opening, head brewer Sven Hartmann said: \u2018Greenwich is where Meantime began.
