Production on the first season of HBO\u2019s \u201cHarry Potter\u201d TV series is underway and HBO boss Casey Bloys has spoken about the planned shooting schedule for the series.<\/p>\n

During a recent press event, Casey confirmed that the show\u2019s writers have already begun working on the scripts for the second season and, from the sounds of it, it is paramount that production on the show stay at a consistent pace to avoid long hiatuses between seasons.<\/p>\n

Each season adapts one of the books of the J.K. Rowling novel series, meaning events will unfurl across the span of a year each time. However, big-budget and VFX-heavy television series often have hiatuses between seasons of well over a year, and quite often two years \u2013 such as with HBO\u2019s own shows like \u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d and \u201cThe Last of Us\u201d.<\/p>\n

Appearing at a presentation on Thursday, Bloys said the plan is to churn out the series pretty consistently and fast \u2013 suggesting an annual release strategy \u2013 because its child stars will age and nothing can stop that:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if it\u2019s going to be like stop shooting Season 1 on Friday and start Season 2 on Monday \u2013 there will be a break in there. But we\u2019re going to do whatever we can to not have a huge gap, for the kids, obviously, but also for viewers. We\u2019re trying not to have massive gaps. It is a big show, lots of special effects, obviously, a massive operation. But we\u2019re going to do what we can, for the kids\u2019 ages, but for viewers as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The TV adaptation is expected to make its debut sometime in early 2027. The series is led by newcomers Dominic McLaughlin as the titular character, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger.<\/p>\n

Joining them are John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley, Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, and Gabriel Harland as George Weasley.<\/p>\n
