Police have confirmed that a child has been hit\"SeriousSerious police incident in Ashfield Road, Rochdale(Image: JMG Press)<\/p>\n

Police have blocked off a road in Rochdale after reports of a child being hit by a vehicle.<\/p>\n

Emergency services have been pictured at the scene on Ashfield Road today (Monday, April 28). An air ambulance was also spotted earlier.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> have confirmed that a child has been hit by a vehicle. Emergency services remain at the scene.<\/p>\n

The Manchester Evening News understands that GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is dealing with the incident.<\/p>\n

The road near Rochdale<\/a> town centre was shut after the incident with several police vehicles and ambulances pictured at the scene.<\/p>\n

It is unclear how serious the injuries to the child or anyone else involved in the incident are. GMP have been contacted for comment.<\/p>\n
