Sheffield Wednesday’s administrators have said they hope to have a preferred bidder by Friday, 5 December.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Championship club entered administration four weeks ago to bring an end to Dejphon Chansiri’s 10-year reign as owner.<\/p>\n

Kris Wigfield, managing partner of Begbies Traynor, also confirmed that they have now had 12 parties show proof of funds.<\/p>\n

“Several parties have come forward with sensible offers or assured us they will be doing so over the next few days, this is a very strong position for the club and a clear indication of Sheffield Wednesday’s huge potential,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We will review the offers at the start of next week in the hope that by Friday, 5 December we will be able to accept a deposit and grant exclusivity, allowing the EFL’s formal checks to begin.”<\/p>\n

Wigfield announced last week that the club was in a position to pay wages on time for both November and December<\/a> after fans, who had been boycotting the club in the final months of Chansiri’s ownership, returned in large numbers.<\/p>\n

Wednesday are bottom of the second tier on minus four points after being given a 12-point deduction for entering administration.<\/p>\n
