{"id":586816,"date":"2025-11-22T13:08:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T13:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/586816\/"},"modified":"2025-11-22T13:08:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-22T13:08:11","slug":"charity-lunch-in-musselburgh-raises-more-than-1000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/586816\/","title":{"rendered":"Charity lunch in Musselburgh raises more than \u00a31,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The event, which took place at St Michael\u2019s Church Hall on Dalrymple Loan, was organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Musselburgh.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Club members were delighted at the support for the lunch, which raised funds for the Scottish-based charity through ticket sales, a raffle and donations.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mary\u2019s Meals feeds three million children with a nutritious meal every school day in 16 countries. The charity is supported by the Inner Wheel Club of Musselburgh and is Inner Wheel&#8217;s international charity of the year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In some of the countries where Mary\u2019s Meals works \u2013 Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe \u2013 the school meal served is a vitamin-enriched porridge which helps children to learn and grow.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Speaking about the soup and pudding lunch, Vivien Ireland, club spokesperson, said: \u201cClub members once more rose to the challenge and arrived punctually along with eight pots of soup, delicious desserts, tea and coffee, flowers and raffle prizes.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThanks go to family and friends who helped on the day.
