John Textor is preparing an official bid to take over at Derby County amid speculation linking him with both the Rams and Sheffield Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Alan Nixon<\/a>, the American is ready to make an approach for the Championship side as he eyes a return to English football.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old was previously a part of the ownership structure at Crystal Palace before he sold his stake in the Premier League side earlier this year.<\/p>\n

He has also been involved with other clubs across the globe, including Lyon and Botafogo in France and Brazil, respectively.<\/p>\n

David Clowes is the current owner at Pride Park, having taken over after the club went into administration in 2022, and it remains to be seen whether he will accept an offer from the American businessman.<\/p>\n

John Textor readies Derby County bid amid Sheffield Wednesday takeover links<\/strong><\/p>\n

Textor is reportedly<\/a> ready to make an official offer to purchase Derby County<\/a> as he seeks a return to English football.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s believed<\/a> he has flown into the UK this weekend, and he could even be in attendance for their clash at home against Watford this weekend, with the team seeking a sixth league victory in a row.<\/p>\n

Derby are understood<\/a> to be valued at around \u00a360 million, with Textor considering a deal that could lead to him purchasing a minority or majority stake in the second division side.<\/p>\n

However, it yet remains unclear if an agreement can be struck with Clowes, amid this speculation, with numerous other interested parties still in the mix.<\/p>\n

Textor\u2019s name has previously been linked<\/a> with Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>, but it\u2019s understood<\/a> that the cost of the deal could now prove more expensive than originally planned, despite going into administration, and his main target is now to complete a deal for Derby.<\/p>\n

It was reported<\/a> earlier this year that Chansiri was seeking \u00a3100 million in order to cash in on his stake in the Owls, but a reserve price<\/a> of about \u00a330 million has been mentioned amid interest from a number of parties.<\/p>\n

Derby County supporters will be wary of John Textor ownership<\/strong><\/p>\n

Derby<\/a> have enjoyed great stability under Clowes after a very turbulent few years prior to his purchase of the club.<\/p>\n

That stability will always be under threat with a new face coming in to take over the team, and Textor is someone that supporters will be particularly wary of.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old oversaw financial mismanagement at Lyon, which even had the French side at risk of being relegated to Ligue 2 as punishment for their issues behind the scenes, and he was also not well liked by supporters of Brazilian outfit Botafogo either.<\/p>\n
