Peter McMahon’s family say he is being kept alive by machines after he suffered a devastating heart attack days into a winter break.<\/p>\n

A Scots dad is in a coma in Turkey<\/a> after he suffered a heart attack on holiday.<\/p>\n

Peter McMahon, from Glasgow<\/a>, went into cardiac arrest<\/a> in the early hours of Wednesday morning on November 19. His heart stopped beating for 70 minutes.<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old dad-of-five had flown out to Antalya resort on November 14 for a week-long winter break.<\/p>\n

His devastated daughter Teigan has flown out to be by her dad’s hospital bedside. She told the Record he is being “kept alive by machines” as she launched a desperate appeal for help.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old said: “I got a call on Wednesday to say my dad was in ICU after he had a heart attack.<\/p>\n

“He had a mini heart attack a few months ago.<\/p>\n

“This was totally different. They had to perform CPR on him for over an hour. His heart stopped beating for 70 minutes.<\/p>\n

“It’s caused damage to his kidneys and is now having dialysis.<\/p>\n

“He’s still in a coma but he’s able to breathe on his own. We are praying he wakes up. We are hoping for a miracle.”<\/p>\n

Peter, who owns a bodywork repair car garage, had flown out without insurance.<\/p>\n

His family are facing expensive medical bills while he remains in hospital.<\/p>\n

Teigan has set up a fundraiser to raise cash to pay for her dad’s hospital bill and hopes to bring him home. The fundraiser has pulled in \u00a32,000 in just a few hours.<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI can\u2019t stress enough how important every penny counts. This bill is increasing day by day and is far beyond anything me or my family can manage alone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not the type of person to ask anyone for a penny, but I will quite literally beg to save my dad\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

“I will do absolutely anything to give my dad the best possible chance.”<\/p>\n
