{"id":587262,"date":"2025-11-22T18:23:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T18:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/587262\/"},"modified":"2025-11-22T18:23:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-22T18:23:13","slug":"met-police-arrest-driver-after-cyclist-dies-in-southwark-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/587262\/","title":{"rendered":"Met Police arrest driver after cyclist dies in Southwark crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a cyclist was killed in a crash in south-east London, the Met Police has said.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Officers were called to Old Kent Road at about 06:55 GMT on Friday after a car collided with the cyclist near the junction with Dunton Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 34-year-old male cyclist, who was treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A 68-year-old man, who was driving the car, failed to stop at the scene but was traced a short while later and arrested, the Met said.
