Staff at an Edinburgh bakery were allegedly ‘threatened<\/a>‘ by a man who attempted to steal from the shop.<\/p>\n

A man entered Kilted Donut on Leith Walk<\/a> before allegedly trying to make off with cash. A member of staff was in the back and one of the owners, who was also present, then confronted the man.<\/p>\n

Upon being challenged, staff claim he picked up wooden knives and swore at them. In a post on Instagram, bosses say they never witnessed such behaviour at their previous branch in Leith.<\/p>\n

They also made the decision to no longer accept cash<\/a> from Monday, April 28, following the terrifying incident over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Posting on Instagram they wrote: “Today we had another incident of someone walking into the shop and trying to steal.<\/p>\n

“Our front of house team member was in the back and one of the owners was in. The owner confronted him and his response was \u201cf*** you, what are you going to do\u201d while he grabbed a handful of wooden knifes!! <\/p>\n

“We have never had this before when we had our old location in Leith. The safety of our staff is paramount, so as of Monday 28th of April our Leith Walk shop will be no longer accepting cash.”<\/p>\n
