Bristol City must do “everything” to address the contract situations of players heading towards the end of their deals at Ashton Gate, Gerhard Struber insists, with the Robins boss admitting he “would love” to work with both Anis Mehmeti and Zak Vyner in the future.<\/p>\n
Both Vyner and Mehmeti played crucial roles in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Swansea City<\/a> on Saturday lunchtime. Vyner started and kept a clean sheet from a dynamic left-sided centre-back position, whilst Mehmeti assisted all three goals<\/a> as City secured a win in four games and climbed back into the play-off places.<\/p>\n The 24-year-old curled an excellent corner onto the head of Rob Dickie after four minutes, before finding Emil Riis – who volleyed home – on the half-hour mark. It’s more on them, so I would love to work with Anis Mehmeti and Zak Vyner in the future.”<\/p>\n In recent months, Vyner has been deployed in central midfield by Struber as a result of the Reds’ injury list in the middle of the park. With all of Jason Knight, Max Bird, and Joe Williams sidelined<\/a> for much of the campaign so far, Adam Randell<\/a> has been the only fit, senior midfielder available.<\/p>\n Having returned to the backline against Watford last time out, Vyner lined up in an almost hybrid position against the Swans on Saturday.
