Liverpool-linked Marc Guehi has praised his Crystal Palace teammates after Saturday’s 2-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The centre-back was poised to complete a \u00a335million move to Anfield<\/a> on deadline day in the summer.<\/p>\n However, Palace put the brakes on a proposed transfer after failing to secure a replacement. Missing out on Guehi at the time was not seen as a blow for Arne Slot’s side, with the England defender seeing his Palace contract expire next summer, meaning the Reds could then sign him for free.<\/p>\n But Liverpool<\/a> have struggled badly defensively this season, with 20 goals conceded in the Premier League<\/a> so far. Ibrahima Konate, in particular, has endured a torrid time at centre-back and was brutally substituted by Slot during Saturday’s dismal 3-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n Konate’s struggles alongside shaky performances from the normally reliable Virgil van Dijk in central defence have come amid solid work at Palace from Guehi. The 25-year-old kept another clean sheet this weekend as Oliver Glasner’s team moved up to fourth in the top-flight.<\/p>\n And the Englishman has chosen to praise the team as a whole after goals from Daniel Munoz and Yeremy Pino secured a comfortable three points at Molineux.<\/p>\n He said: “Well done, team,” in a three-word message alongside several pictures of him in action against Wolves.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n It is unclear whether Liverpool will revisit a move for Guehi in January to arrest their defensive woes. Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have also been linked in recent months.<\/p>\n Guehi admitted in October that he does not know where his future lies. Asked on whether he knows the next step in his career, he said: “No, because I like to live in the present and I can’t be thinking about the future at all because there is a lot of work to do, but also my future is in God’s hands.<\/p>\n “Wherever God wants me to go, I will go, but that will be taken care of at the end of the season.”<\/p>\n The former Chelsea youth team player stressed he will not let his contract situation affect him heading into next summer’s World Cup in the United States.<\/p>\n He added: “For me, it doesn’t really matter, to be honest. As long as I’m playing well and helping Palace, there’s definitely an opportunity for me to be here as I am today.<\/p>\n “Whether it’s sorted or not, it’s not really the most important thing to be honest.<\/p>\n “Personally, I don’t know if I can think that far ahead. I like to just take it step by step, and that is just focusing on the games that I have at Palace and any upcoming opportunities I have here.<\/p>\n “When [deadline day] happened, it was all a blur.
