A 20-year-old woman has been arrested following the incident in Tameside<\/p>\n

A man has been seriously injured after being bitten by an XL bully dog in the street in Tameside<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police<\/a> say a 20-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of keeping a dog that is dangerously out of control. The attack took place on John Street, Droylsden<\/a> just after 5pm today.<\/p>\n

Police cordoned off the street while the dog was brought under control. It has been seized and remains with police.<\/p>\n

Witnesses reported seeing a man with serious injuries to his arm. Police say there is ‘no wider risk’ to the public.<\/p>\n

A GMP spokesperson said: “We’ve arrested a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of keeping a dog that is dangerously out of control shortly after 5pm today (Monday) after a man reported being bitten by a dog on John Street, Droylsden<\/a>. The man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening, where he remains.<\/p>\n

“The dog, which was an XL Bully, has been seized and remains with police. The scene has been stood down and enquiries are continuing.<\/p>\n
