Neco Williams has been a revelation since his move to Nottingham Forest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds are struggling all over the pitch, but their defence is the area that is probably causing the biggest concern.<\/p>\n

They have let in 20 goals already in the league, with their 3-0 defeat at home to Forest only highlighting these issues once again.<\/p>\n

Sean Dyche\u2019s side on the other hand were excellent at the back, with former Red Williams<\/a> a key reason for this as he starred from left-back.<\/p>\n

The Welshman has established himself as a key player since departing Liverpool in 2022, with the full-back proving Jurgen Klopp<\/a> exactly right.<\/p>\n

Williams was an up-and-coming full-back while at Liverpool, with the youngster getting a chance under Klopp.<\/p>\n

He got a decent amount of opportunities at right-back as well, but with Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> ahead of him in the pecking order, he could not become the first-choice.<\/p>\n

He opted to move to Forest in search of some more minutes, with the \u00a317m transfer fee hard to turn down, and Klopp said at the time that he felt this was a good step for Williams in his career.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s wonderful news for Neco \u2013 a perfect move in many ways,\u201d Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a bright, exciting talent and he\u2019s going to a club that is upwardly mobile in this moment. I think they\u2019ll be ideal for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams has played the full 90 minutes in every league game so far this season, impressing almost every time, with his performance against Liverpool showing exactly what they are now missing.<\/p>\n

Liverpool have issues at full-back<\/p>\n

Liverpool refreshed both full-back positions this summer but not to very good effect, with Milos Kerkez<\/a> struggling at left-back again while Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a> had to start on the right due to injuries.<\/p>\n

Williams, however, made matters worse by putting in such an impressive display, showing what difference having a competent full-back can make.<\/p>\n

He was resolute at the back and won almost all of his duels, and he also showed his attacking threat by picking up an assist, with Sean Dyche\u2019s gameplan executed perfectly.<\/p>\n
