LONDON (Reuters) -Britain’s fiscal watchdog will downgrade \u200bits economic growth forecasts for \u200c2026 and for the remaining years of the \u200ccurrent parliament alongside finance minister Rachel Reeves’ budget on Wednesday, Sky News reported on Monday.<\/p>\n
The independent Office \u2060for Budget \u200cResponsibility was already expected to cut its key productivity growth forecasts,\u200d according to media reports in October.<\/p>\n
The OBR’s projections underpin the budget \u200bchoices of British governments. Reeves \u200cis likely to raise taxes to fund an expected 20-30 billion-pound ($26.2-39.3 billion) hit to the public finances from \u2060the OBR’s weaker \u200bgrowth outlook, \u200bhigher debt costs and other factors.<\/p>\n
The Treasury did not immediately respond to \u200da request \u2060for comment on the Sky News report.<\/p>\n
