Celtic are back on the road midweek as they gear up for some Europa League action.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Callum McGregor\u2019s last minute winner<\/a> spared blushes against St Mirren and kept the pressure on league leaders Hearts.<\/p>\n

Things desperately need to improve in Europe, however after the Hoops were well beaten by Midtjylland.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t get any easier either as Celtic travel to Rotterdam to face Feyenoord.<\/p>\n

Unlike Celtic, Feyenoord suffered a home defeat<\/a> in the build-up to Thursday\u2019s game, but that doesn\u2019t make the task at hand any easier.<\/p>\n

Feyenoord are one of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands and have lots of history about them so, ahead of the game, here are five facts about the club.<\/p>\n

How will Celtic do against Feyenoord? Feyenoord made European history <\/p>\n

Like Celtic were the first British side to win a European trophy, Feyenoord were the first team to win the European Cup<\/a> from the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

They won the competition in 1970, unfortunately beating the Hoops to do that.<\/p>\n

Ove Kindvall\u2019s goal late in second half extra time was the difference as Feyenoord won the game 2-1.<\/p>\n

Feyenoord have never been relegated <\/p>\n

There aren\u2019t many clubs around the world who can boast this, but Feyenoord have never been relegated from the Eredivisie.<\/p>\n

Formed in 1908, it is a proud tradition that they share with the other two members of the \u2018big three\u2019, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.<\/p>\n

It looks unlikely that they will be relegated any time soon and that they will continue to compete at the top of the table.<\/p>\n

Two Celtic legends have a Feyenoord connection <\/p>\n

There has always been some mutual respect between the two clubs after sharing legendary stars.<\/p>\n

Manager Wim Jansen<\/a> has been in the dugout for both teams, and striker Henrik Larsson<\/a> has also represented both clubs.<\/p>\n

They are widely loved by both fanbases and their contributions will never be forgotten.<\/p>\n

This is a tradition that has been adopted by some clubs and Feyenoord are another who never hand a player the number 12 shirt.<\/p>\n

They believe that the fans are the 12th man and want to honour the Het Legioen, which means\u00a0The Legion\u00a0in Dutch.<\/p>\n

By not giving a player that shirt number, it displays how important the supporters are to the club.<\/p>\n

De Kuip holds special record<\/p>\n

Feyenoord play their home games at De Kuip \u2013 a stadium which is regarded as a bucket list venue for many football fans.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s close proximity between the players and fans makes for a deafening atmosphere.<\/p>\n
