Wales star Tomos Williams is on the verge of completing a sensational move to Saracens.<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old’s Gloucester contract expires at the end of the season and Williams has been on the shopping list of some of European rugby’s biggest clubs along with rebel competition R360. The Cherry & Whites want to retain Williams but WalesOnline understands Saracens are now closing in on his signature with a deal close to completion.<\/p>\n
Williams is one of the deadliest attacking number nines in world rugby and has made a huge impression on the Gallagher Prem since joining Gloucester from Cardiff<\/a> at the start of the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n Such was his influence Williams had in his first season at Kingsholm he was named Gloucester captain for this campaign, but the Cherry & Whites are currently one from bottom on the Gallagher Prem table without a single win to their name.<\/p>\n The man from Treorchy is one of Wales’ only genuine top end international class players and was rewarded for his form with a place on this summer’s British & Irish Lions tour of Australia before injuring his hamstring in a warm-up game against Western Force.<\/p>\n Like most of the game’s best players Williams was a big target for R360 but its future is up in the air.<\/p>\n No deal is completed yet but Williams’ long-term future appears to be at the StoneX Stadium.<\/p>\n A move to Saracens could take Williams’ game to a new level due to the strong culture and winning mentality at the club.<\/p>\n Williams would form a half-back partnership with England legend Owen Farrell and Scotland’s Fergus Burke.<\/p>\n Saracens have been heavily linked with a move for Jac Morgan but Wales centre Nick Tompkins is already at the club along with loosehead prop Rhys Carr\u00e9.
