{"id":591745,"date":"2025-11-25T00:11:27","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T00:11:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/591745\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T00:11:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T00:11:27","slug":"peter-martin-hits-the-nail-on-the-head-about-celtics-merchandise-after-agm-fiasco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/591745\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter Martin hits the nail on the head about Celtic\u2019s merchandise after AGM fiasco"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The drama of Celtic\u2019s AGM overshadowed the weekend\u2019s action in Paisley. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Celtic<\/a> players did their talking on the pitch, thanks to a stunning last-minute winner from captain Callum McGregor against St Mirren.<\/p>\n<p>A lot has been said about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/simon-jordan-calls-out-ross-desmonds-actions-after-peter-lawwell-cancels-celtics-agm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Celtic\u2019s AGM being cancelled<\/a>, with the board trying to push their narrative via club channels once everything was concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The Celtic supporters were never going to buy that rubbish, but nor are the Scottish media, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/peter-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peter Martin<\/a> highlighted on PLZ Soccer. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_3370-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Peter Martin\" class=\"wp-image-337671\" \/>Peter Martin \u2013 Credit: PLZ SoccerCeltic selling merchandise<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to transfers, the powers that be at Celtic make a meal of it, as they proved this summer, and how they failed to properly back Brendan Rodgers.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking on PLZ Soccer, Martin rightly highlighted that, when it comes to selling merchandise, nobody is better at doing it than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/derek-mcinnes-has-no-doubts-about-hearts-as-celtic-move-a-step-closer-to-chasing-title-rivals-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the champions of Scotland<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>Martin stated how strip after strip is being put on the shelves by the club, from \u2018Adidas strips\u2019 to \u2018fashion wear\u2019, but those paying their tickets are no longer having it. <\/p>\n<p>        Poll: Do you have faith in the Celtic board?       <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last 20 years, it\u2019s not only about recruitment, but it\u2019s how they deal with players who are there,\u201d said Martin. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow they deal with them when they have clearly said something to them about moving on, and it doesn\u2019t happen. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen this late, late signing of players right at the tail end of transfer windows. \u2018Oh, we couldn\u2019t get the right guy.\u2019 These excuses have been rattled out nonstop. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Celtic fans have heard them that much that they are saying to themselves, \u2018you know what, there is a considerable amount of money that the Celtic fans buy strips, one strip, two strip, third strip. Classic Adidas strip comes out. Fashion wear comes out.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsistently having to put money up for their season tickets. Exorbitant prices in European matches. At the end of it, they are saying, \u2018Enough is enough.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celtic fans\u2019 \u2018Not Another Penny\u2019 campaign<\/p>\n<p>There have been many protests from the Celtic fans, from just outright chanting against the board, not taking to their seats at the start of games or delaying the start of matches. <\/p>\n<p>One that many would have seen is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/celtic-board-bow-down-as-the-not-another-penny-campaign-shows-signs-of-biting-hard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Not Another Penny\u2019 campaign<\/a>.
