{"id":592121,"date":"2025-11-25T04:41:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T04:41:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/592121\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T04:41:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T04:41:11","slug":"googles-compliance-with-eus-big-tech-rules-gets-italian-redesign-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/592121\/","title":{"rendered":"Google\u2019s compliance with EU\u2019s Big Tech rules gets Italian redesign \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While the DMA was designed to centralize digital enforcement in Brussels, it has not boxed out national regulators from pursuing Big Tech cases.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Responding on Monday, the Commission welcomed Google\u2019s Italian settlement and said the changes it foresees would be rolled out EU-wide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoogle\u2019s commitments are a good example of how the work of national authorities on consumer protection law complements the Commission\u2019s enforcement of the DMA to achieve better results,\u201d a Commission spokesperson said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoogle will change its consent screens to provide clearer, more accurate information \u2014 both about how Google combines and cross-uses personal data and what the implications of consent are for users.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The EU\u2019s digital rules are a major concern for the Donald Trump administration, and U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/us-steel-tariff-relief-eu-digital-concessions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised the matter<\/a> on a visit to Brussels on Monday.
