Construction at Baltic Wharf was officially marked by a groundbreaking ceremony, with the scheme set to provide 166 homes in Bristol.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The harbourside development is being delivered through a joint venture between The Hill Group and Goram Homes, with 40 per cent for affordable tenures.<\/p>\n

The 66 affordable homes will be owned and managed by SNG. Of these, 50 will be for social rent and 16 for Shared Ownership.<\/p>\n

Located on Spike Island, the new neighbourhood will feature one, two and three-bed flats, commercial spaces and landscaped public realm.<\/p>\n

Once complete, the development will reconnect the River Avon with the Floating Harbour, establishing new pedestrian links and green spaces.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by Councillor Tony Dyer, leader of Bristol City Council, and Councillor Barry Parsons, chair of the council\u2019s homes and housing delivery committee, alongside colleagues from Bristol City Council and representatives from Hill, Goram Homes, SNG and Homes England.<\/p>\n

James Gibson, SNG \u2013 regional managing director, said: \u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to see work starting on this important development at Baltic Wharf. [\u2026]<\/p>\n

Andy Hill OBE, founder and group chief executive of The Hill Group, added: \u201cWe are delighted to mark the start of construction at Baltic Wharf, a development that will transform this prominent brownfield site into a sustainable and inclusive new neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking in partnership with Goram Homes and Bristol City Council, we are creating publicly accessible landscaped open spaces in the area that was previously closed off.<\/p>\n

Stephen Baker, managing director of Goram Homes, said: \u201cBreaking ground at Baltic Wharf is a significant milestone for our partnership with The Hill Group and for Bristol.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is understood that the first homes will be available from spring 2027.<\/p>\n
