SteamVR 2.14 is a maintenance release focused on fixing up bugs and nuisance issues. Nice to see the Linux fix make it in here, as no doubt that was quite annoying.<\/p>\n<p>Mainly, this is promoting the previous Beta build to stable for all SteamVR users. No doubt plenty more ongoing behind the scenes so that SteamVR is ready for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamingonlinux.com\/2025\/11\/valve-reveal-the-new-steam-frame-steam-controller-and-steam-machine-with-steamos\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">upcoming Steam Frame device from Valve<\/a>. I am very excited to get my hands on it eventually to cut the cord with VR but the Valve Index has served me well until now.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s all that&#8217;s changed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>SteamVR:<\/strong>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<ul>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Improve startup speed when no HMD is present.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fix an issue that could cause &#8220;Port 27062 in use&#8221; (can also manifest as error 309) when no HMD is present.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fix an issue that could result in error 302 or error 101, especially in unusual startup configurations.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Changed Binding UI to allow saving bindings that don&#8217;t bind all required actions (with confirmation).<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fixed an issue where HMD simulation would persist after an app using controller simulation ended.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fixed some scenarios where the wrong render model would be displayed when multiple devices were simulating.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fix a crash that could occur if the roomview processing was delayed.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Updated dashboard binding for HP Motion Controller to fix screenshots, smooth scrolling, and take advantage of Quick Recenter.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>The prompt to setup SteamVR for app containers and web applications now covers cases where SteamVR is installed outside of its normal location.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fixed chaperone showing when using Steam Link or wired headsets that draw their own boundaries.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n<strong>Steam Link:<\/strong>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<ul>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fix Steam Link freeze for users with AMD video cards (&#8220;Error 250&#8221;).<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Minor judder improvements.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n<strong>Linux:<\/strong>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<ul>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Fix a shared memory leak that happened each time an app disconnected from SteamVR.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/games\/250820\/announcements\/detail\/610928706380105509\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Valve<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tArticle taken from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamingonlinux.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GamingOnLinux.com.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The latest stable release of SteamVR is out now!
